Join us for an evening of bluegrass and square dancing. Local bluegrass fixture New Breaks will be presenting an evening of high-energy bluegrass music and old-time New England-style contra-dancing.

The first hour will feature a performance by Hyde Park’s New Breaks (David Chernack on guitar, Frank Kara on mandolin, Gary DiGiovanni on banjo, and Jim Sullivan on bass). New Breaks has been active in the Hudson Valley bluegrass scene for over a decade, and are known for their powerful vocal harmonies, driving instrumentals, and high-energy rhythms. With an eye to modern bluegrass while remaining firmly rooted in the classics of the genre, this is a performance you won’t want to miss! The second hour will feature a contra/square dance featuring caller Eric Hollman. Eric is an extremely experienced caller who will lead attendees in dances for all ages and skill levels. Backed up with live fiddle tunes from New Breaks, this dance is a great way to get introduced to contra and square dancing.
